Finally, an Answer to “How Many Calories Do I Need to Eat to Lose Weight?”

Have you ever asked yourself, “How many calories do I need to eat to lose weight?”  It’s a common question for those looking to lose weight and to maintain that weight as well.  Body fat and one’s weight is tied in with the number of calories you eat, but if you’re looking for a quick and absolute answer to the question, you need to consider a few things first.

One is that calories alone are not the issue when it comes to weight gain or loss.  The body reacts to many different factors, such as from where those calories are coming, how you respond to hunger pains, how often you exercise, what forms of exercise you try, and so on.

Also, the number of calories needed will be different for every person.  If you’re asking, “how many calories do I need to eat to lose weight” and assume it’s the same for everyone of your gender and in your age group, you’ll be mistaken.  The more physical activity you have every day, the more calories you’ll need and will be able to handle without gaining weight.

So what is the answer to the question, “how many calories do I need to eat to lose weight?”  The answer is that it depends.  It depends on your level of physical activity, your metabolism, what you’re eating, and many, many other factors.  Unfortunately, the answer is that there is no easy answer!

Quick Tips on How to Lose Weight Without Exercising

Wondering how to lose weight without exercising is nothing uncommon; many today just don’t have the time to exercise, at least not enough to make a difference when it comes to weight loss.  And even if a person does have the time, exercise can get boring and repetitive and not always deliver the results expected.

Of course there are many benefits to physical activity above and beyond weight loss, so a person should never assume that a sedentary lifestyle is okay as long as they’re not overweight.  When considering how to lose weight without exercising, remember to think about the big picture of your overall health.

But to lose weight without spending hours and hours on the treadmill, think about filling up on lean protein and vegetables when you eat.  Protein makes you feel full quicker and is used by the body to build muscle.  Vegetables also have the nutrients your body needs for overall health.

Eating lean protein means items like chicken, turkey, fish, lean pork, and eggs.  Fattier proteins like beef are typically fine in very moderate portions, but the leaner cuts of meat are better since fat itself contains a high amount of calories.

If you make these items the mainstay of your diet, you may notice some weight loss.  Learning how to lose weight without exercising means turning your attention to your diet and making better decisions as to what you choose.  In this way you can lose weight and keep it off for good.

You Can Learn How to Lose Weight Without Exercising!

Are you looking for tips on how to lose weight without exercising?  Spending time on a treadmill or in a gym is very difficult for most since just about everyone’s schedule is so full these days.  And even if you do have the time, who wants to just run on a treadmill or do repetitive aerobic exercises over and over again?

When considering how to lose weight without exercising, think of how you can increase your physical activity in small increments throughout the day.  In this way you’re not really exercising but are burning more calories.  You might be surprised at how you lose weight when you just increase your everyday activities.

Here are some simple suggestions to get you started, and you may have heard some of these before but they’re worth considering again.  One thing you can do is park as far from the entrance of a building as safely possible.  Walk to a coworker’s desk rather than email or phone.  Make several trips when bringing groceries and other items from the car.

You can also increase physical activity in other ways every single day.  Clean out your kitchen cupboards and bathroom more often than you do; remember that housework and yard work burn a lot of calories.  Walk to the corner store when you just need a loaf of bread rather than drive there.

Considering how to lose weight without exercising means making these small changes which will of course add up in the long run.

Eating Right to Lose Weight Without Exercising

Is it possible to lose weight without exercising?  Many people today no doubt hope so; exercising is often boring and repetitive, not to mention time consuming!  It is an important part of maintaining weight and of your overall healthy, but you can lose weight without going to the gym or spending hours on the treadmill.

Eating right will be key if you want to lose weight without exercising.  Note that this doesn’t necessarily mean eating less; it means up on foods that will fight hunger pains and keep you healthy while helping you to maintain your weight.

Protein is one of the best choices in this regard.  There is a chemical in protein that signals the brain to think the stomach is full.  Other foods don’t have this chemical so you rarely get that full feeling as quickly as when you eat protein.  Think lean choices; turkey, chicken, lean pork, and fish.  Try substituting turkey for your meat products such burgers and sausage.

Vegetables are also a good choice because they’re low in calories for their volume.  That means you can fill up on veggies and consume far fewer calories than if you had a cheeseburger or sugary snacks or pasta.

Making the right food choices is key to lose weight without exercising.  Of course if you can increase your physical activity at all, you’ll want to do this.  But eating the right foods in the right amounts will mean consuming fewer calories overall and then losing weight.

Portion size? Does it matter!

Sometimes eating habits can be hard to change, wouldn’t you agree?

This is one of the reasons why so many people have trouble sticking to their weight loss goals. But this doesn’t mean it’s hard.

A recent study shows that portion sizes have TRIPLED over the past several years. You need to understand how the portion size you are eating is contributing to your weight.

If your portions of high fat, calorie dense foods, with low thermic effect are high, you are on course to gain weight.

On the other hand, if your portion sizes are large, but with high mass, low fat, high thermic effect foods, you are less likely to gain weight, and not starve in the process.

You can also balance out the two strategies by proportioning your meals, mixing larger amounts of high thermic foods on the plate, and smaller amounts of the calorically dense foods on the plate.

This way you satisfy both objectives, have the foods you like, and satisfy your appetite.

This is a learning process, but worth mastering

How to proportion your plate, eat as much as you want or anything you want is a lifetime skill. It’s worth learning because it can keep you thin.

Can I Still Eat My Favorite Foods When I am Trying To Lose Weight?

You may have been told to stay away from your favorite goodies such as ice cream or a slice of chocolate cake.

Question : Do you have to stop eating your favorite foods to lose weight?

The answer is No, ( but it can depend on you,)

If you have no control on your food impulses, e.g. you start binge eating ice cream till the whole tub is gone. You may have to avoid this food, till you overcome, and gain control on this food.

You can still eat your goodies as long you don’t over indulge. You must control the portion size. You can eat ice cream but not the whole tub

Secondly, if you have caloric awareness, and know how to balance your calories, you can make allowances for your favorite foods, and eat them.

After all, life would genuinely suck, if you had to eat “diet food” for the rest of your life.

Weight loss is about regaining control on your eating. Once you’ve gained it, you can eat what you like.

“There are no forbidden foods just forbidden portions in the case of some foods”.

Start somewhere, rather than not at all, to lose weight.

When you think about the word “DIET” what comes to your mind? STARVATION, HUNGER, DEPRIVATION, EXERCISING, FRUITS and VEGETABLES.These may be some of  the things you immediately start to think about. But you also may think about how hard it’s going to be to lose the weight you want.

“X” amount of pounds is what you want to lose, but what ends up happening is that you never get started, and you continue to eat the same way that is causing you to stay overweight, and not happy.

You can overcome this. First decide how many pounds you plan on losing. A realistic goal is to lose 1 to 2 pounds a week, and you should be able to stick to this pace.

Then get knowledge about how to lose weight and live thin diet free in the real world.

Learn how not to starve yourself.

You see, losing the pounds at a pace you can maintain, and stick to, is better than losing 10lbs really fast, and then gaining all the weight back, because you could not stick to the plan.

It can be easier if you understand the simple rules to weight loss. I talk more in detail about losing weight in the world and how you will NEVER have to go ON A DIET AGAIN at www.drharryweightloss.com

Warning, you don’t need surgery to lose weight

The other day my cousin asked me if I could help his wife lose weight.

I asked him if his wife has tried losing weight before and he said yes but that she could not stay on the strict diet because she would constantly be hungry. And when she would lose the weight she would gain it back again once she went back to her regular diet.

He also mentioned that she was considering having surgery. I told him to advise his wife to look into it very carefully because it can be very dangerous and life threatening.

You don’t necessarily have to have surgery because you can lose weight without feeling hungry all the time. You can lose weight on a full stomach but of course you can’t fill your stomach with calorie dense high fat foods all the time. That’s how you gain weight and keep it on.

THERE IS A WAY TO GIVE YOURSELF A NON SURGICAL GASTRIC BYPASS BEFORE EVERY MEAL. I talk about it in my book and have clear self explanatory pictures that even my 8 year old son Paul can understand.

In my book I talk more about how you can eat as much as you want and anything you want while losing or maintaining weight.
